Reflections

The warm gulf waters tickle my feet
dreaming of other lands
Other worlds where friends
have come and go
Does the past ever feel me,
can you all ever see me
searching for postcards
in the sand
Life constantly renewing itself
from hurricane forces
pain and anger subsided
love has reached me
rejuvinating my soul
Pain always came from love lost,
human error, and misunderstandings
Friendships waned but never lost
Found in the reflection of the sun
off the clear blue waters
that now lay sound in
the Gulf of Mexico

Making it Happen

Every things fine! With gas, food, and airfares rising and the economy failing, it is not easy to get classes and workshops up and running. Although, I met up with a troop of actors on the beach, called, "The Orpheus Players." They are interested in having a class there, so I am working out the details now. They are also involved with the local paper there called "The Sandpaper," and the editor, Carl Conley has just recently built a home for "The Island Arts Foundation," equipped with the soon to be completed "Purple Heart Theater". They are very fun and talented people and I am looking forward to working with them and possibly acting in and/or directing a play with them. In the acting process "Don't make it happen, let it happen," but in the business you must "Make it Happen."

NY Workshop

The workshop went very well and it was so much fun as always. It was great to see an old friend from back in the day of acting classes with Sharon Chatten. Thanks Gina. You are a wonderful actor and it was a pleasure to have you at my workshop. It is also so nice to see how everyone has grown in their work. You go girls! Stay tuned to my blog for pics and videos. Thanks to Matt they are being edited now.

Gearing up for NYC

Whooo Weee! Just a week away from the annual NYC workshop. I am so excited to spend time in NYC and see my son, my brother and his family. Yes, I have stayed quit and it has been over a month since I have had the long slim enemy invade my lungs. I am doing great. I bought bikes for myself and my boyfriend on his birthday last month and have been actually riding it. Well, a bit anyway. Last weekend I rode to Hooters and had two whiskeys and then rode back. Hey, we all need incentive. It was also the first time I had had a cocktail in a month. Too hard to quit smoking while drinking. Life is grand these days. I am starting local classes next month and have met some very creative people on the beach that I will soon be collaborating with on new projects. There is still a couple of spaces left for the workshop next weekend, so please see my workshop page if your interested. I have been auditioning and talking with casting directors on what they like to see at an audition, and can't wait to share my knowledge from them and experience with you all. Hope to meet and work with more of you soon.

New York City 2008

I am getting geared up for the NYC Workshop in May. It is now like an annual reunion of students every year. The workshop is limited, so please sign up soon if you are planning on attending. I have people signed up that have planned a NYC holiday. What fun! I myself have plans to visit my family, as well as enjoy the wonderful culture that only NYC can provide. Oh yeah, I quit smoking this morning. Yikes! It has only been two hours, but I really feel this is the end of a very long relationship with an enemy. I am sucking on a cinnamon stick and using committ lozenges. Please write in with any advice on how to make this difficult task a bit easier.

Ah, Politics

Yes, we are all told not to speak politics or religion in public, but it sure makes people come out of the woods and voice their opinions. I haven't had as many responses to this blog in a long time. Some may say I am trying to heat things up here. Well, actually I am just interested in hearing opinions of all of you that visit my site. I personally am really looking forward to this election and am proud to be part of a more diverse nation.

They think they are so intelligent

Wow, can't tell you how many republicans I have come across in this state. They think that they are the most intelligent party. They also believe that they are so witty by voting in caucuses and primaries for the democratic runner that they believe will be easily beat by McCain in November. Well, the problem with that is that they have not overwhelmingly picked the same candidate. Well, I am assured now that many of them will be very disappointed when the democratic nominee is finally revealed. I personally believe that either Democratic candidate will overwhelmingly beat out McCain in November. They are both very intelligent and it would be nice to have a president that speaks well for a change.
