This exciting and challenging class is designed for both beginners and experienced actors who are serious about growing in their craft. Using the techniques of Russian master actor and director Constantin Stanislavski and her studies of The Method, instructor Elizabeth D’Onofrio guides her students in deep relaxation techniques which tap into sense memory and emotional memory, then helps them apply these discoveries to the scene. Her emphasis is on “keeping it a real conversation.”
Basic Class Outline
The first hour will consist of cold readings of sides from screenplays and theatrical plays and basic improvisation exercises using the six steps of setting up an improvisation.
The second hour will consist of relaxation and sense memory exercises.
The third hour will consist of working on character development within scenes and monologues.
